Check Engine Code (Camshafts). Need Help!!!!!
Hey Guys,
I am relatively new to this forum, but was following for a bit of time.
Picked up 2012 C63 with 80k on it. Everything was fine, but after couple weeks and some hard pulls - next day saw an engine malfunction.
Checked with a mechanic: P0736 Continuous camshaft adjustment(left): Incorrect Position of the exhaust camshaft (P0023)
If anyone knows what is it, and how bad is it - please help me.
P.S I dont think that its a sensor, since there is another code for the sensor.
Thanks everybody

Means you need new aftermarket cams for more powaa! So install and do a write up for us!
In all seriousness sounds like a sensor or something to do with the cam adjusters imo

Sounds like either the sensor or the adjuster. If it's just the sensor, I think those run about $100 and they're relatively easy to change. If its the adjuster, which sounds like those are far more prone to failure than the sensor, then those run about $500 and you have to take the valve cover and adjuster cover off and replace the adjuster, then make sure it's timed correctly.

nothing wrong with 80k and good maintenance records. If anything it's lived an easy life of nothing but highway miles. Which is much better than stop and go city miles. Probably has the original brake pads on it too.
Swap sensors they are all the same, when it comes back on the same one put an adjuster in.

Pads where changed couple months before the car went on sale
Good idea, but price of the sensors is like 20$ each.
