LSD Diff
I was under the impression that the 507 edition came with the limited slip diff, but thanks to Joe (Valvestud) who kindly supplied me the data sheet for my car, I now know I have a standard diff.
So i started researching some options, and the 2 diffs that seem to be the most popular are the Quaiffe and the Wavetrac.
Some people swear by the Quaiffe, others the Wavetrac. There does not seem to be any definitive answer based on back to back testing which is better.
The one thing I did find was that on some later model C63's you need to machine the inside of the diff housing to fit the Wavetrac. I couldn't find anything about the Quaiffe needing any mods.
I have used a Quaiffe before, in another car, so I know it is good, but would like to know others people's opinions who are running the LSD in their C63.
Thanks.

Quaife LSD is definitely good and made a world of difference to how the C63 holds power to ground.
Fitted them to mine, day and night difference noted.
Only issue is that needs careful fitting to ensure seals does not leak.

You can't go wrong with either. Both incredible performing units.
Quaife prices have increased pretty substantially but do not require any modification to the housing.
Most Wavetrac installs we have to take off a minimal amount but it's not a bid deal at all.
Let me know if you need any help with picking up parts, we sell both units with a full install kit comprised of OEM bearings, seals and Motul gear oil.

Tal, what would you say the difference is between the two in driving dynamics, or is it impossible to tell. And versus the OE LSD - any difference?

I have a Wavetrac and my buddy has the Quaife. I think it would be cool to try the roller test.
In theory the Quaife would be stuck and the Wavetrac should drive out.

Sounds like it (been reading up). I wonder how the Wavetrac stacks up versus the OE LSD...

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I live in South Africa, but have a friend who runs a business importing parts from the States. But thanks to our ****** of a president, who through his complete lack of any intelligence has sunk our currency to over 16 Rand to the Dollar, everything has become damn expensive.
Tal, can you please PM me a price for both kits. Just want to see what it would work out to landed in SA.

Does your wavetrac have clunking noises during U-Turn or reverse? I've heard about those kind of things happen on other brands/vehicles.

I've only had a handful of guys switch from the factory LSD to a quaife/wavetrac and they all report the car performs much better through the corners but in my own C63 I think the factory LSD works pretty damn well.
Truthfully I think this mod is more important than and ecu tune and should be done first and foremost before adding more power.
