Daytime Running Light dead in 3 years?

I tried to search this topic but could not find any info on this.

I drive a "13 with 16,000 miles and the other day I got an error on the dash "Right DRL error" and noticed that the right-side DRL was not working at all.

From my understanding these LED DRL's should last more than 3 years?

What would you reckon I do - get it checked out in case it´s just a loose connector or just go ahead and order a new one?

I visited my local MB dealer and they quoted me 300$ for just the right side DRL

Thanks in advance!

Here's a picture of her just because I hate threads without pictures.

2013 with those miles and that should still be covered under warranty. Otherwise, i'd try getmercedesparts.com or somewhere like that.

I'm just out of warranty (2 years in the EU) but thanks for the lead on parts!

Haha, very nice. I had mine replaced on my 13' a little while ago. They just go out sometimes. Try OE Discount Parts, they have it on there for pretty cheap.

This guy has great stuff. When my driver side went out I ordered a replacement from him for 140$ shipped and it ended up being brighter then the other side so I ordered the passenger side. He sent me the passenger side for 120$ shipped and they are bright and they look amazing! I have a 2013 c63 with 39,000 miles.

The LED's should still be fine, it's the driver that drives them that more than likely went out. I don't know if their is any access to the electronics of it or where it might be, but I could almost guarantee that the driver or electronic board that lights it up is to blame.

I hear ya, but for me it's the passengers side. It began with flickering and then it went out completely.

i like your style.

whats really annoying is when people post that they just got a new car and no pics.

This had nothing to do with your situation, sue me.

Haha , I agree though. At least throw in some type of picture of a car, even a random image from google will do.

I tried taking it apart. It was just a lot of components and the leds are wired pretty good in the casing. Just isn't worth trying to fix in my opinion.
