I saw that post and was like... Wait. What?!? GET OVER HERE CARS.COM!!! Oh, nope, still $90k+. And all was righted in the world again.

If you want to see something interesting, go look at the new E63S 4matic prices. I feel SO bad for people who jumped on those out of the gate.

Yes those e63s have me salivating , they're getting priced down into my wheelhouse very quickly. It's crazy low mileage ones are in the low 70s high 60s

I will be selling my previous DD 2009 C63 sedan with 50k miles in the near future...it is still a wonderful back up car as I transitioned to my new DD, a Tesla Model S P85D...

Yeah I kind of realized that after i typed it that's why i threw in the S7 right after because it's more so in the price range he was looking at. My other suggestions were fairly spot on though as far as price range

My personal choice if I was looking to move on from my c63 and had 65k to spend would most certainly be an e63s. I think if you are patient and wait til the right moment, you could get one for right around 65ish.

$60K USD or $60K CAD (which is, like, what... $9 USD nowadays)? $60K USD will get you a half-decent car (new or used). $60K CAD won't. Big difference.

60k CAD looks to be around 43k USD right now.
so if this is canadian dollars which i think it is , then unless the market up there is way cheaper yeah you arent getting a lot of whats mentioned.
Still in the range for a FL c63 though

No, the used car market here is not cheaper than in the the US... if anything, it's actually more expensive. I am afraid that for $60K (and I don't know if this includes taxes, which on a $60K vehicle in Ontario would amount to an additional $8K; in Quebec it would be 10% IIRC, which would leave under $55K for the car itself) you are not going to get anything that's both solid and at least a sideways move - not an upgrade - from a C63. With some luck, maybe... as in a good family friend has a nice, looked-after car that they're willing to sell you, but not anything on the open market. For $55K CAD you can get a 2013 Audi A7 with 50K kms... the *cheapest* RS7 (nationwide) on AutoTrader is $100K CAD. There is a 2014 507 sedan for $56K in Quebec, but it has 75K km on the odo. 2013 C63s with 35K km or under on the clock are around the $60-65K mark.

I see plenty of RS5's in the 60's on cars.com. I track with a couple of guys who have them, and they're pretty competitive.

While it's a very nice road car, the RS5 is IMHO not a direct competitor to the C63 around a track. The engine sits way too close to the front so it understeers like a pig, and the brakes do catch fire after three laps - assuming that you don't boil the brake fluid after two. Fit and finish are great and it's perfectly fine for the road, and even better than the C63 to get you going on an incline in the snow, but if you actualy want somethign track-worthy, the BMW is the only cometition (until the Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio comes out in the summer and mops the floor with both the C63 and M3/4 in the performance department... then again, it's an Alfa so it will probably only start on days that have a "T" in them).

Yeah, the guys I track with RS5's have massive upgraded brakes. That car is HEAVY. But they do rip pretty good, and it's AWD and NA, so not a bad platform.

They are certainly decent cars, and with a thick enough rear sway bar you could *almost* make 'em behave properly in the corners... Had an S4 and RS4 (both B7s with the N/A 4.2 V8) so am fairly familiar with them. With a rear sway bar and front brake upgrades they are decent cars indeed. The only thing that bugs me a bit is the carbon build-up on the DI engines - you have to wallnut-shell blast the entire intake manifold every 20K km to get rid of the ~5mm thick soot that keeps building up.

^ I loved my RS4. I also loved that it had a fresh carbon clean when I got it. That car is just so smooth and classy and comfortable. Revving out an NA v8 to 8 grand was also fun. It was like "hang on to your jimmy's" fast, but definitely quick enough to enjoy getting from A to B on the street.

I had a PFL c63 and RS4 at the same time and I regret every minute of changing up that setup. Both cars were on upgraded suspensions, two sets of wheels (winters for the rs4 which was a TANK in the snow) and I threw it all away for some dumb porsche turbo. I was so happy to get back into a facelifted c63 and was eyeballing rs4's again, but ended up with an x5.

RS models just don't compete with M/AMG (aside from the newer RS6 overseas and RS7 here) but the RS5 still isn't much to worry about in terms of track performance. However, on the street, great cars.

Not as fast, but with 420 HP, high flow cats and a tune on the way, I should be good for a while.

Sam I love that Aston Martin, was on our list.. Absolutely lovely car to drive, great sound, really comfortable, great looking...

but alas really had to have something you could put 4 adults into

Will see what happens once the last one is out of college

The RS4 (and to an extent the S4) was the ONLY car I've ever had that I looked forward to driving in the snow. I mean, I got all excited when it snowed at night knowing how much fun I'd have the following day in the slippery white stuff.

I also had an Aston Vantage V8 (the early 380 hp model, without the power pack upgrade). Someone else was asking about a comaprision a year ago there was an interesting discussion (I chimed in with my $0.02). Link is here - https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...8-vantage.html.

audi s5 would be in your price range + it's a great 4 season car for our crappy weather in Québec. If I was to lose my car tomorow, that's a car I would be looking for considering the other models available on the market right now.

What about the CLA45 4-matic?

That's a great little car to toss about a race track or as a DD for the office commute... but it doesn't have anywhere near the space of the C class (especially in the rear) and you can tell that it was designed to be a budget car. If performance is what you're after and everything else is of secondary importance, it's a winner.

OP-
Get a 2012+ CTSV. Couple bolt-ons and you're a mid 10 second car like nothing. I love the way the Vs drive, and they come in manual! I miss having a third pedal some days ...

I was about to pull the trigger on a red one, but then came across a 14 C63 that I couldn't let go by - so I bought it and passed on the V
