DPE performance
Does anybody frequent with these guys and/or know if they're still in business?
I've tried emailing them several times over the last few months to enquire for the RHD E63 long tubes (C63 RHD longtubes and E63 are the same i hear) but I can't get a response from them.
Anybody know how I can get in touch with them? Telephone is a bit of a tricky one due to the 12 hour time difference being UK to Australia.
Failing that, any other alternatives? The DPE ones work out reasonably 'cheap' too (if you can call $1700 cheap for headers) but I'm guessing that the alternatives wont be as competitive on price?

I purchased a set of DPE C63 headers. Sent them back. I suggest you consider other options.

Thanks Phil, I guess I'll drop MBH a PM to see how much theirs are...
DPE would probably work out half the price (ok more like two thirds) and still give the same gains. Grrr...promised myself i wouldn't mod this car....ahem...

Very abrupt transition & inconsistent between ports.
Ugly welds.
I have installed & used many DPE GM products and held them in high regard, but their C63 product is not at the same level.

Yes we have RHD headers for the C63. It's been something I've wanted to do for our Mercedes friends for a long time. We believe our header are among the best built headers available for any car.
Our Header systems do cost more than those imported from Asia. However when it comes to the quality of the product, as well as materials used and potential power gains. There is real value to be had by going with an MBH header system. Not to mention we are using United States stainless steel and it is considered much better than stainless steel coming from places like China.

Hi guys, I need some shipping help.
So I called DPE, was nice speaking to the guy at the WA office. Everything was going fine until I got the shipping quote.
Headers ~$1900AUD - which is fine
Shipping ~$1900AUD - what the hell?!
Dimensions of the package are 100cm x 50cm x 40cm and weighs 8kg
Surely it can't be THAT much to ship?? I've had longtubes shipped before for my other cars in the past (albeit from the USA) and the shipping for those was like $300USD.
Is it really that much to ship outbound from Australia? At this rate, I might as well just buy the MBH ones IF i really have to spend that much (which let's face it, I don't).

Whoop! SO largely thanks to mr747, I have placed my order for a set of ceramic coated DPE headers this morning! Thanks Brad!!!
Can't wait to get them strapped on and see what the motor can put down on the dyno!

I can't remember exactly, off the top of my head, but I think it was around $2800AUD - that was for the ceramic coated variant also. Not a bad deal tbh.
I'll probably get lumped with a couple hundred GBP in import taxes too. Total price will be....dunno, I'll need to check my bank account to see exactly how much it all was.

What were your power gains with the DPE? What was your overall impression of the quality of the DPE headers.

Hey Savage-wp,
I have the DPE headers on my 2010 C63. I picked up 50kw at the wheels with these and a quick tune. Car ran a 12.2 with the headers at 117mph. Headers fitted up with no problems and were built well. I do get a bit of a funny noise near the collector, bit like a light tapping at trailing throttle but not noticeable most of the time. I have a couple of videos on my build page where you can hear the exhaust, this is with the DPE headers, no cats and stock back mufflers.

50kW is a decent increase in power. I won't get that much as i have the 507, so it doesn't gain as much with the tuning.
If i can gain 20 to 30kW with Headers and secondary cat and resonator delete, i will be very happy.
