Black C63 wheels - painted or powder coated?

Hi All,

I found a set of wheels with tires that I'd like to get - looking at them tonight so hoping to get some help asap.

The seller is indicating they are from a 2010 C63. They are all black and he's also indicating they are NOT painted.

I'm not familiar with C63 wheels (looking to fit them onto my C207) but I've seen similar style AMG 5 star wheels but the stars have a silver trim around the spokes/arms. These look to be all black and I'm wondering:
a) were these an option for the W204 (and therefore legit) and
b) how can I tell if a rim is painted vs powder coated?

thanks

Definitely painted or powder coated.
These do not come in black. They come in gunmetal with diamond cut spokes.

Difficult to tell if aftermarket or not unless u remove the rim and look on the inside of the spokes where they will have AMG markings with the ET. ET54 rear and ET 45 fronts.

Front alloy wheels: 18x8" ET45
Wheel part number: AMG B66030098
Additional alloy part number: A2044013902

Rear alloy wheels: 18x9" ET54
Wheel part number: AMG B66030099
Additional alloy part number: A2044014002

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that...yes, those are the wheels that I am definitely familiar with. But I have seen some that are black...guess those are all painted/powder coated. Is that a bad thing?

Not a bad thing but it can easily mask any welding for cracked wheels. All depends on sellers honesty.

I do not prefer them in fully powdercoated black as it makes the spokes look too thick.

I have a set like that I got with my 2012 FL sedan. They are from a MB winter wheels package for 5K here in Canada.

Front:
8x18 ET45 A2044013902 Made in Germany by Borbet K1
Rear:
9x18 ET54 A2044024002 Made in Germany By Borbet K1

The black coating looks factory original to me although I did not buy these new.

Those wheels were never offered in black form MB. Just by the one pic that shows a tiny bit of curb rash, I believe them to be painted. I would have them powder-coated if you want to give the black a bit more resistance and longevity.
