How often do you get an alignment?
My buddy wanted me to ask on here how often you guys get an alignment for your cars, every year? every 2 years..? or longer? He dropped off his car for service the other day and the SA told him that his tires were due to be replaced soon and he knows that but the SA also asked him when the last time he got an alignment was. He said his tires looked really worn on the inner sidewall but the tires have been driven on for 10K miles or so already. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

On my other cars, I usually get one every time a set of tires is replaced which probably averages out to about 30k miles.
On my AMG I had an alignment done when I replaced the first set of rears but that was done just to adjust all of the toe in out that is set negative at the factory.

I got a lifetime alignment. So once a year or after running over a pothole. Inside wear after 30000 miles may be the springs settling and affecting the camber. Mercedes sells camber bolts.

I'd do it every 2-3 sets of rear tires. Or if I made any adjustments to the suspension. Or if I hit a pothole hard / notice any wear that was abnormal.

Ok thanks guys, looks like my buddy is going to get an alignment since he needs new tires soon. He says that hes going to replace all 4 tires even though the front tires are still good. He wants to keep even tread throughout all 4 tires lol, do you guys do the same thing or keep the front tires for a second cycle?

I'm with the others. I replace the fronts every 2 sets of rears. Replacing the fronts each time the rears are done is quite excessive

Agree, my fronts are good for at least 2 rear changes. I have lifetime alignments, so usually just go once a year-ish, and they do end up finding some things out of spec. Of course, these aren't Fomula One grade alignments, so there is a margin for error, but I still have them adjust it.
