Hey guys!! bare with me as I try and explain my situation! I am a girl that's not very familiar with aftermarket parts (all my cars have been stock). I am posting in the c63 section since the platform is basically the same as my car. Ive been in contact with Renntech over the last few days. I am interested in their long tube headers (with 200 cell cats) but do not want a tune. I have been told by them that I do not need the tune for the headers; however, I want to make sure this is not just merely a sales pitch as I told them I will not get the headers if a tune is required. I basically just want to make sure that the headers will not hurt my car in anyway. I drive the car a lot (about 5,000 miles a year) and do not want the longevity effected. Please your thoughts? Keep in mind that I do not care about horsepower at all. I simply want more sound 
I know a tune would optimize the performance of the added headers. All I need to know is if the car will suffer without the tune or if it will be just fine. Thank you in advance

If you want more sound, try "just" deleting your 2nd cats with straight pipes and a flange so you can reinstall if you don't like the sound. Or delete the resonator and the secondaries if you want even louder. Long tubes will change the pitch since primary cats will be removed. The pitch is much higher and trumpet sounding. And super loud like nascar loud lol. Some love it some hate it. Headers cost around 3k where a secondary delete would be a few hundred bucks. Plenty of sound clips available with just 2nd cat delete or 2nd + res delete or header + 2nd + res delete.
From what I know, you should get a tune with headers.

Well... it doesn't, except that (s)he already asked the same question in the SLS forum (https://mbworld.org/forums/sls-amg-g...6-helpppp.html) where it was answered by a number of others, including RENNtech themselves - BEFORE (s)he reposted the same question here. Someone who is a 25-year-old "confused female looking for some advice", owns an SLS BS and doesn't know a thing about cars, except that (s)he knows what long tube headers are, what 200 cell cats are and what a tune is and possibly that the tune and headers may affect the "overall longevity and reliability of the car"... it simply doesn't add up. Yes, it's completely irrlevant whether she is a she, a he or something in between... but it's someone who definitley has other motives and is wasting everyone's time.

Guys, OP is legit.. I've seen her post on FB car forums lately so no need to hate.
On the other hand, I gotta agree that one thread in the SLS forum was sufficient, and I remember reading the same post/ question on FB... Maybe she just want the whole world to know she bought an SLS BS & I guess there's nothing wrong with that. :P

And, the bigger problem here is that it's not just stupidity - she is obviously compensating for some kind of personal insecurity issue. Posting multiple threads here and on FB car forums? Everyone pay attention to cute silly and confused little me in my SLS BS... I need you all to notice me and envy me!
