I just installed this same diffuser and it comes out over the exhaust tips, just like your photo. Would you mind telling me how you 'got the tips extended'? Body/exhaust shop? Something you ordered? Is there a relatively inexpensive way I can get them flush like you did? Thanks for any info you can provide!

Get long tube headers. That will shove the pipes and will be flush with your diffuser.
Not really the most cost effective solution, but damnz...that diffuser messed up the look of your ride.
Looking into these as they are also compatible with non-amg's, (other than brackets, which you can buy) since I have prefacelift its also hard to find; its rather annoying because the car is not old, but production just moved on to facelift and left pfl behind.
And I'm not looking for a HUGE fin diffuser, like some of these. Just enough to make a statement. Any suggestions?
Looked at autofans but not too reputable, but they have the products...
I find the OEM diffuser is perfect.
Big finned is a bit much IMO... but all depends on the car.
As of now I 10000% agree. The more I look at the OEM diffuser, the more I like it. It fits perfect, its made of bullet proof plastic and wont fade or chip like the Carbon overlay ones, and it flows well with the car. If I can find one that fits as good and is matte plastic with slightly bigger fins, I'll get it. As for now, my search has brought me back to OEM.
If you have to cut your tips and extend them to make your diffuser look correct. That's a poorly designed diffuser.
This is the very exact same crap diffuser that is sold all over the net labeled as "BIG FIN" diffuser. I received 2 when I was ordering off of pictures that showed OEM exhaust extensions with slightly bigger fins and they (from China) sent me these crap, oversized, square exhaust extended diffusers and I sent them back to get refunds.
The above "BIG FIN" diffuser is so rigid and straight and the exhaust lips are so extended that it is almost impossible to mount it to the bumper without having to remove the the whole bumper. Good luck not damaging your bumper in the process or having to weld it on. What these people who sell them don't understand is that they COVER THE FREEKIN EXHAUSTS like an uncircumcised shlong....
Just as Kiston said, if you gotta remove your exhaust and extend them to fit a diffuser, thats a crap diffuser design.
Always from China they keep sending this crap thinking we are dumb...
This one is different though. Look how well it mates to the bumper itself.
It doesn't have that protruding lip. Do you guys see what I mean?
That diffuser in the pic above is this one on ebay. They just took the regular CF overlay diffuser that sells for a dime a dozen for $100 and screwed on some big fins and are selling it for $400+
The fins are just held on by screws. It's not one piece.
Any Idea where I can find this diffuser? I been trying to look for it but cant find a big fin like this one. Websites? or name of the diffuser. My car would look great with that due to my spoiler.

I was tempted to make one out of aluminum and powdercoat it. I actually prefer the look of the thin sheetmetal diffusers. They look more functional IMO. I just didn't have time, and my buddy that had the tools to help make it moved a few hours away.

lol its crossed my mind but it'll probably get messed up.
So, here was another stupid project of mine. I learned how to use AutoCAD last spring, and measured then designed 3 extension fins to fit my previous MC diffuser. The design was based off of this Vaeth diffuser, with a bit bigger fins.
I sent the file to Rockwood Composites, and had them CNC cut the extension fins out of carbon plate. I bought some threaded rod, and was going to tap the plates lengthwise, then JBWeld that to the fin, and attach with a nut on the other side. That didn't come out quite right, I thought they turned out too heavy to hang off of the super-thin carbon of the MC diffuser. I looked into creating a way for it to "slot" into the diffuser too, but couldn't figure it out. So I never attached them. After that I didn't like the diffuser anymore and switched out to a Vorsteiner-style one.
Would've looked cool though, I'll dig them out of the closet and take a pic in a minute. If anyone wants them let me know.
