DIY Front Brakes - Pads & Rotors
Hey guys. I plan on replacing my pads and rotors but have a few questions. I have the OEM parts from my dealer, was only $590 total. I've never done this on a Mercedes before, but have on my BMW 335.
I've been looking at this thread but it doesn't touch on the Rotor replacement: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...rake-pads.html Few questions... Is the caliper difficult to remove to get to the rotor? I'm guessing a few bolts on the back? Do I need to replace the sensor if it has not been set off yet? Do I need to put an anti-squeal compound on the back of the new pads? THANK YOU ALL! |

Wow that explains a lot.
I am interested in a more detail response also. Take off the wheel. Remove brake pads (one bolt for the front, 2 pins and a spring retainer for all). Remove caliper (2 bolts) Remove rotor set screw (1 torx bolt) Remove rotor. Reverse. There isn't any more to it than that. |

Not sure how much more detailed it can get?

Why are some saying no to putting anti-squeal on the back of the pads (between the back of the new pads and the backing plate)?

Well my factory installed pads (still on originals) are squealing like a pig, so when I put new OEM pads in next weekend, I think I will try some anti-squeal.
