DIY Front Brakes - Pads & Rotors

Hey guys. I plan on replacing my pads and rotors but have a few questions. I have the OEM parts from my dealer, was only $590 total. I've never done this on a Mercedes before, but have on my BMW 335.

I've been looking at this thread but it doesn't touch on the Rotor replacement:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...rake-pads.html

Few questions...

Is the caliper difficult to remove to get to the rotor? I'm guessing a few bolts on the back?

Do I need to replace the sensor if it has not been set off yet?

Do I need to put an anti-squeal compound on the back of the new pads?

THANK YOU ALL!

Wow that explains a lot.

I am interested in a more detail response also.

Not sure how much more detailed it can get?

Take off the wheel.
Remove brake pads (one bolt for the front, 2 pins and a spring retainer for all).
Remove caliper (2 bolts)
Remove rotor set screw (1 torx bolt)
Remove rotor.
Reverse.

There isn't any more to it than that.

Yeah. It's probably the most simple brake job I've done. The caliper bolts are 10mm hex. I'd get a socket to put on a breaker bar. Keep in mind they need to be torqued to 130 ft-lbs. I forget the torx size for the rotor. I want to say it's T25.

Why are some saying no to putting anti-squeal on the back of the pads (between the back of the new pads and the backing plate)?

Just did mine. I put anti-squeal so curious to this as well.

The OEM pads use a clothy type material on the backing plate, so they say no need to use the anti-squeal paste like on the metal ones. I still used the Wurth spray, though. Easy enough to do.

Well my factory installed pads (still on originals) are squealing like a pig, so when I put new OEM pads in next weekend, I think I will try some anti-squeal.
