Autocheck report

In my experience, the Carfax report has always shown more than the autochek report, specially more updated maintenance history if the owner took it to a dealer for the scheduled maintenance. If you are just trying to compare the two, the Carfax shows you more. Not sure why that is as I thought they pulled the info from the same sources, maybe does not update as regularly as Carfax does?

Interesting. I was told by someone in the dealer business that autocheck may pull some information on back stories if disclosed during an auction or other scenario that a carfax may not pick up on if the accident was never reported.

I'm only telling you about my experience with both. Every car that I get, I get both reports and every time the Carfax has more to show.

Def get the auto check. I bought a car with a clean carfax. Went to trade it in for something different 6 months later at car max. They ran an auto check on it and told me it was involved in an accident and had frame damage. They gave me the auto check and lo and behold it was sold at auction with frame damage. Carfax said nothing about the auction. I always get both from now on so as to not get screwed again.
