I am considering biting g the bullet and getting a factory 507 hood to do the conversion. Does anyone with a 507 hood and the vents know if there is any clearance issues with a supercharger? I'd hate to spend the money and find out there are clearance issues... Thanks

You must uninstall the supercharger to make it fit.

No issue with supercharger, either ESS tuning or Weistec.
I run ESS tuning with 507 bonnet.

Hello,

I just wanted to ask how you converted the OEM bonnet with the 507/BS air vents. What kind of body filler is needed, that can handle the high temparatures off the bonnet?
My body shop said there might become cracks in the paint, because off the heat from the engine. Unfortunately, they don't want to do it for me because of that.
It's a aluminium bonnet and they think it's hard to work on this.

Can someone give me a good advise? I allready have bought all the parts and currently my c63 is in the body shop to roll and pull my rear fenders.
I would be happy about a quick answer from you guys.

Thank you

Best regards,
Ramon

If there would be cracks in the paint from the heat, why doesn't it happen in the 507 and black series models? I don't think they know what they are talking about.

In my black series, there are two metal air duct (which in this case, also serves as heat shield?) beneath the air vents, on the bottom side of the hood, which also clamps over the large insulation underneath the hood; these have factory part number from the OEM parts diagram, ask your dealership to pull the chart and you'll see them pretty clearly.

These are actually Plastic (not metal), and are only used to re-direct water flow from Rain.
They do not serve as heat shielding, and can be easily removed for improved heat extraction during track or hard canyon runs, and re-installed when needed.

@ramony98 - the 507/BS Hood has a separate Heat Shield/Insulation Liner, same as the Non-507 Hood, except this 507 Hood Liner has cut outs for the 2 hood vents.

yes, heat extraction, that's what i meant; but mine are metal, in fact, i've ordered a new pair (old ones had some light scratches due to age), and they came in metal, too, not plastic; i can provide the part number if anyone is looking for them.
