PT3 Code and Press Car Code on 2015 C63
I am looking at a 2015 C63 that the dealer said was an executive car. The car has 9k miles on it. Carfax shows new tires at 3k miles in Monterey, CA. I am wondering if it was a track car from the AMG Driving School or a press car. It is fully loaded including ceramic brakes. Can anyone tell me the history with the last 8 of the VIN FU048055.
We would lease the car not buy it. Does the lemon law cover leased vehicles? Thanks in advance.

There is an AMG Driving School at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, CA. I would say, especially given the new tires at 3K and ceramic brakes, that it is 100% a former track car.

My wife and I did the AMG school at Laguna Seca last year. What a blast. Actually this car will be hers. She is coming out of a 2014 C63 Edition 507.
I just thought the school would take care of the tires and not a dealer. I am thinking maybe a press car at the track. Not a deal breaker for me if I can get the right price.

They put ceramic brakes on the track cars?!

No I didn't mean that to sound smartass. I'm just surprised since ceramic brakes (I'm assuming we are talking about carbon ceramics) weren't offered on the C63. Also, for a track car, ceramic brakes are usually not a good idea. That's why a lot of people (think 911 GT3 people) swap in steel brakes for track use and leave the ceramics at home for if they sell the car.

Agree that is odd. Carbon ceramics are actually very good on track. Most people swap them out for steel though because they're so damn expensive to replace.

No I agree. They perform well but when used on the limit, they don't last much longer than steel brakes and cost a fortune.
