Removing Backboxes

Hi guys

Apologies if a similar thread exists, couldn't find anything.

I am looking at removing the backboxes on my car.
I have already removed the secondary cats and resonators, still don't think its loud enough though.

So my question is, will removing the backboxes have any negative effect on performance?
I'm not looking at gaining any power, just want it to be louder.

Backboxes = mufflers. I only know that from watching Wheeler Dealers.

Interesting. Good to know. Never heard of a muffler called a blackbox.

I have had my backboxes off for over a year and wouldn't have it any other way....fyi, take out the boxes, put the resonators back on and enjoy life!!! The volume is great but you want the resonators back in place because they are actually what provide that AMG bark....no seconds, resos then no mufflers sounds like liquid sex IMHO

Hahaha Thanks guys

I sadly can't put the resonators back, because I kept the standard housing and just emptied out the insides

Mainly worried about losing any sorts of power

Just buy some new resonators.

Without the secondary cats, resonators, or the mufflers it's probably going to be way to raspy and I'm guessing you'll have a good amount of drone too
