Oil Temp not displaying CEL

The other day my CEL came on while driving to work. The oil temperature was normal but didnt seem to move fast (usually blinks between 2 temps)

Code is p0939- Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Low. Now it will not display temperature at all. Car runs just fine but I have only driven it once since then. I will be taking it in but I am curious if others have seen this and if its just a new sensor needed.

Might be a silly question, but have you checked your oil level as well?

Sounds like a bad sensor to me. See what the shop says.

Good idea to check your oil level. Probably nothing to do with it but can't hurt.

Ha! Yea totally get it! Congrats on the wedding! So I think best practice is to get the car up to temp and then let it sit for 10 min then check the oil. But I think given your situation I wouldn't run the motor if you don't have to if it is low oil. If it's so low that it's causing this, then it should register either way I would imagine.
