IPE Exhaust - Worst service ever
We got hold of IPE Taiwan on the 9th January, and they sent us a quote including shipping to South Africa.
Payment was made that Wednesday, and they sent us confirmation of payment, and said they would let us know when the headers were ready to ship.
They emailed the following week to say the headers were ready for shipment. On Friday 20th January the headers arrived in South Africa. We had to wait a few days for our useless customs officials to clear the parcel. I had the goods in my hands on Wednesday 25th.
Product looks awesome. Looks very well made.
So this time around the service was excellent from IPE.
Car is booked in next week Wednesday to have the Headers and Mid pipes installed, and for a custom tune.
I can't wait to have these bad boys installed on the car.
I will update with pictures and dyno graphs.
IPE Taiwan: excellent product, excellent service.
IPE Europe: fake / knock off product which looks crap. Worst service I have ever dealt with.
Aparently there was one of the tubes from the driver's side (in my case, the left side) that was a miss-match - wouldn't fit perfectly. My guy worked that out okey.
Don't put any kind of headers to your car, really. The sound goes from "wow, that's a nice sound" to "OMFG WTF IS THAT F****NG AWESOME EXHAUST HOLY ***t THAT'S SO INSANE".
Really. It gets THAT good.
I haven't fitted them yet but I'm impressed with the quality of the bends, welds and pipework. I opted for catted headers due to our yearly emissions (and sometimes on-the-spot roadside) checks and they look solid enough from what I can see to do the job.
They are a three-part design with sleeved collector. Personally I prefer it this way for freedom of adjustability while fitting, and it worked just fine on my buddies MK1 Ford Escort rally car which sees so much abuse. The collector then sleeves onto the down pipes and comes with new clamps, and the down pipes connect at the other end to the factory resonator using factory couplings.
Once I can my A into gear with Eurocharged, and have them send me a Headers tune, I'll install these later this month.

Same as what you experienced, I also received the headers very quickly after ordering them.
And they do look good. Welding is extremely neat.
How difficult is it to remove broken header studs on this car. It is the left side, which is the passenger side in SA.
do not buy from them as they sell fakes ! and IPE put info on their web site. we started war with this guy , here in Europe. we cannot let them sell this crap as IPE taiwan product.
we would be happy to help You if You had any problems with IPE EUROPE and we can help You to get real IPE product, visit out Youtube dogboxpl and have a look and our IPExc63
it took all day !
Guys, just check IPE TAIWAN web site, and there is list of dealers. Contact them .
Hope admin will change name of topic to ipe europe fake
Headers and mid pipes are all fitted. Everything clears and looks good.
Car sounds absolutely mental.
Just need to do the tuning now.
we loaded my previous tune file onto the ECU (which was tuned for primary and secondary cat delete, and resonator delete) and ran the car on the dyno. Stuck a lambda sensor in the exhaust just to check it wasn't lean or anything funny.
Then we did a power run. Car has picked up 13kW and 35Nm already.
We will start tuning on Monday with HPTuners.
So that is a total gain of 20kW and 39Nm over my previous best. Which was Primary and Secondary CAT delete, and resonator delete. Straight piped with tune.
Total gain from stock is 39kW and around 60 to 70Nm.
Straight pipes (no CATS and no resonator) and tune vs IPE Headers and Mid pipes plus tune.
We made huge gains at the bottom by playing with the cam timing.
