So the weather here in London is getting more and more horrid and upon cold starts, the oil temps are in the 5's (centigrade). I'm sure that it will get slightly colder here too, so the oil temps may drop further. Oil...doesn't freeze, does it? What do you guys do when it's this cold? I think MB used the 5w-40 oil when I had the service in May.
I let it idle for 30 seconds or so and then very slowly go about making my journey, putting minimal load and taking it really easy. Isn't much else I can do really apart from drive one of the other cars instead of the 63
Well...at least the car is pulling better with these colder air temps when the engine is warm though

5c is not even cold - I start my car when it is -30c with 0w30 in it at that time of year.
-30 outside or -30 oil temp!?
Either way, FML that's one cold place where you live!!

I've only seen it as low as -25C on my C63 in Toronto... and if the car is sitting outside for 12+ hours, that will be both the outside and the oil temperature. That is exactly when that M1 0W-40 becomes a much better oil than anything else you could put in the C63.
