I'm looking to buy my first 6.3L AMG car. Everything checked out ok except for this



Is that normal on the 6.3 power plant? Or is it valve cover gasket like the 5.5 engine? Thank you for the guidance

That's the cam adjuster cover and it's not normal to leak from there.

^ I agree. New gasket needed!! And I would check the cam adjuster while I'm at it. How many miles on the car?

Adjuster gasket, about 20 bucks and half hour to pop that off.

Bringing back an old thread. I believe I have a leak from the seal behind the cam adjuster. I just replaced valve cover but noticing leak right below adjusters on Both sides.

anyone who has replaced this seal would appreciate answers to questions below.
1. does the valve covers need to be removed to get to the seal behind cam adjusters. Seal is part # 1560162221
2. Does pulling the cam adjuster cover require any special tools to maintain engine timing or it does not affect timing when pulled.

appreciate any help here. I have searched the web and forums and can’t seem to find a diy, thanks in advance for any help
