Winter Tire Selection
In order to be legal on some roads in BC, I bought winter tires.
My mistake I fear was to buy more on price not expecting any major snowfalls in the area in which I live which includes one of these roads.
Bad move.
Vancouver has been blanketed with a significant layer of snow ranging from 4-10 inches and it is wet, packs easily and in these cars is a huge challenge unless you have adequate winter tires.
The Nexen Wingard S tires are - in a word crap - in these conditions.
Starting in 2nd gear (C) AND dragging the brake and still the ESP is shutting off power basically just off idle. It was also interesting to note that after several attempts to rock the car it shifted to 1st gear even though it was in C which should be a second gear start.
Clearly Wingard S is not the tire for wet easily pack to ice snow!
