Looking into buy a C63
So ever since I heard of the C63 I've wanted it. I've been driving a 2002 c240 and a 2008 335i. I love both cars but it's almost time to upgrade and I've been reading about the C63. All the articles Ive read about the headbolt problem date back to 2012, so I'm asking if this is still a problem or have the majority of owners converted to the Weistec bolts. If not then is there anything I should be looking for when inspecting the car? I went to a guy selling a 2010 C63 and I asked about the headbolt problem and he wasn't sure about it. The car was around 70k miles too. I'm looking for one around 60-70k. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Search. Look at the FAQs. It's been covered. Pre-2012, expect the headbolts haven't been done. Most owners don't swap them unless they break.

Personally just buy a 2012+. If you decide to go the prefacelift model spend the money and have the head bolts done, or use the vin decoder to see if you're in the affected range. It'll save you the anger of engine failure otherwise. If though you decide to go pre FL, again have the head bolts done and just expect normal 80K+$ car maintenance. Parts don't become cheaper, owners just become more rare

It's just too hard to keep up with the influx of retards anymore. We should build a wall.

OP, as previous posts suggest, there is more than enough information on this forum which will answer all your questions. Use the search function. I personally bought a late 2011 C63 with 59k miles, expired warranty. According to my VIN number I am not affected by the head bolt issue.
I would also suggest, even tho I am an owner of a PFL, is to go with a FL model, 2012 or newer. Do I regret buying a 2011, PFL, heck no. I already invested 7k+ just in mods. But I am also very aware of the potential headache of a bill in case those head bolts decide its time to let go. This however can happen to any motor, it's an engine after all. Just because you purchase 2012+ does not guarantee a safe passage.
