Exclamation Which service do I need on my 63

Hi all,

Recently purchased my 2011 C63 125 Edition 64k on the clock...

ASSYST has flashed up that I need a b service, here are the old service details.

13.04.2015 - Service Major - 55k
30.04.2014 - Service Minor - 41k
15.08.2013- Service Major - 28k
22.11.2012 - Service Minor - 16k

ESS is telling me that I am due an A service and by the looks of that history it should have had an A service a while ago but wasn't done for whatever reason, anyway the car is now mine and will get it back on track. Can anybody advise which service Mercedes would have me in for? should I just go minor as per what ESS tells me and to get it back on track or have it in for the major?

Thanks

You can download the maintenance manual and see what has been done on the car and compare to see what it needs.

I'd definitely do the oil and brake fluid. Spark plugs are about due and transmission fluid should have already been done.

So basically I'm looking at a B service really rather than the A service??

Is there a translation between what Merc says is an A or B service and what the manual shows?

The A and B Services are a complete waste of money. They check things like if the doors open and close and that the lights work.

Ask the dealer to do just the specific work. Check your manual. Oil every 12 months or 15K miles, brake fluid every 2 years, etc.

It's easy to reset the service message yourself.

Holy shet, no even my C300 gets 15k oil change interval... Must be those AMG internals causing less wear

I'm pretty sure it's 12 months/10k miles/15k kms. If you go 15k miles without doing blackstone analysis first to tell you it's ok, you should not be driving a C63.

I meant it in km, not miles. Oil change interval is 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or every year. That goes for C300, C63, etc... doesn't matter. That is with synthetic oil, as you should always use with these cars.

I thought it was the norm that everyone around here does it at 5k miles? Has it been proven at all that a C63 oil after 10k miles is much worse than that of a C300?

It depends. That's why blackstone oil analysis is needed to really determine how often is optimal for oil changes. Depending on how the car is driven and what oil is used, there may be little difference between 10k and 5k. If heavily tracked, 5k is probably too long of an interval.

For a car under 10 years old, trust the owners manual. Unless you track it. After 10 years, increase the interval.

Some experts say that changing oil and filters too often is not good because both need time to break in. You'll find that everyone has their own opinion.

I trust the engineers, and lawyers, at Mercedes Benz, and adhere to their schedule.
