When mine did that, I ordered a replacement cap and no difference. It ended up being the PS reservoir itself. Not expensive though luckily, and very easy to replace.

You replaced the whole tank, right? How to do it?

Yes, I did. First, I removed as much of the fluid as I could with a turkey baster. Then I popped off the thick hose that runs across the top of the reservoir. I believe there is one, maybe two bolts securing the reservoir that you need to remove. Next, you have to remove the hose clamps on the inlet and outlet hoses that goes to the reservoir on the right side. It can be messy once you remove the hoses. Installation is the reverse order. Remember to fill the reservoir with the proper fluid (I used pentosin chf 11s) and bleed the air out of the system.
