Tire Size
I apologize if this question has been answered already, but I couldn't find anything dealing with this specific question.
I've got the stock AMG wheels / tire size on now (2011), and I wanted to go wider in the rear. I know you can go to 265/35/18 without a problem, but was wondering if you need to make an equivalent change to the front tires. I'm asking because the only ones I need to replace right now are the rears, so I was planning on keeping the stock fronts on for a while. Any problem with this?

The key is to just keep your sped difference within about 5% of OEM so things like ABS and traction control don't get confused. Front and rears are already a little different in circumference OEM.
So to compare
255/35/18 - 25 inch diamter 832 rev's per mile
235/40/18 - 25.4 inches and 819 rev's per mile
265/35/18 - 25.3 inches and 822 rev's per mile
So technically the 265/35 is actually the closest to the front size already on your car and less variation than the factory setup, so should be good to go!
