Edit: To piggyback off of 604 C63's comment, an argument CAN be made here. In my opinion, for what he's trying to do, it literally won't affect anything. HOWEVER, the argument can be made that it DOES in fact affect upstream components... #backpressure. Let's play devil's advocate here. It is possible for a warranty to be null and void if operating the vehicle at an incorrect back pressure.

As I said above, emissions is not my concern. Keeping the 4 year aftermarket warranty intact is.

Nice write OP, good gracious 26k miles is nothing it seems for a '12, thing was babied huh? My '12 AMG has over 40K

Modify the car or take it on track and risk blowing the SD warranty. The fine print is pretty clear and they have enough experience to at least be suspicious and ask a lot of questions before approving a repair in advance. If they don't approve it then you pay up front and fight for the claim to be paid.
You cannot modify it or race it and you must continue to maintain it in accordance with MB service requirement to keep your coverage.
My AC claim was approved today in advance. No hassles.
I will not modify my car or track it let alone race it for exactly this reason. I want value from my investment in the SD warranty going forward.
I get a big enough kick out the pipes now. I get a bigger kick playing with the guys with the boy racers with noisy exhausts when I scoot while they are still moving their right foot. Hell I have even had fun with guys in your former car with my CLA45AMG so this C63 is surely to enlighten some of them.

Yeah, I hear you. Unlike the mustang, it sounds like this car will need to stay stock. Hey Jim, any updates?! Is it still too quiet? Still babying that aftermarket warranty?
Basically the first week of getting my c63 I went to the shop and chopped off that cat and resonator. Put an H in and it sounds glorious. Get lots of complements when it makes some noise. Even old dudes are giving me the nod and smiling!
I'm very risk averse and calculating, but I totally think you should delete the cats. It's worth it.

Yes, still babying that aftermarket warranty. The periodic horror stories on the forum about cost of MB diagnostics and parts keep me in that frame of mind. BIG contrast from the Harley. The Harley, even with its built engine that makes almost exactly 60% more power than stock, is an insane bargain to maintain in comparison.
I do enjoy the powerful way the C63, in the words of my Viper-driving son, "makes everything seem so easy". This car is quicker than the Kawasaki H2 that made my day for me everytime I rode it in the 1970s, and it's an actual daily driver with 4 seats! The acceleration on a highway ramp is very satisfying.
And I have fallen under the spell of Mercedes engineering. They thought of EVERYTHING. The attention to detail is outstanding, and sometimes very subtle. One tiny example: The 2nd screen "below" the digital speedometer screen records and displays miles/time/MPG "since start". I used to think that was "since the last time the car was started". I now realize it is "since this morning". Any business person would find this very useful to record his/her business miles each day, without needing to remember to reset a trip meter each morning. Someone really put some detailed thought into the design features.
The other thing that continues to surprise me is how many people recognize that the C63 is a very fast and expensive car, long before they get close enough to to see the AMG and 6.3 symbols.
The inability to see the left and right edges of the car (because the REAL fenders are not visible from the driver's seat) continues to irritate me. Since I don't want to get curb rash when parking, like the previous owner did, I end up parking 12 to 18 inches from the curb! My wife thinks it is hilarious. I almost always now BACK into a parallel parking spot, simply because the RH mirror tilts down and lets me see the actual tire to curb clearance! Those front and rear sensors do a great job of protecting the front and rear corners of the car, but do nothing helpful in parallel parking!
Best news of all though is that after over 4 months of ownership, I have had no "issues" beyond that brake squeal under very light braking (only) when coming to a full stop (I posted about that recently and a good cure was suggested). No funny shifting, no running hot, no electrical gremlins, no interior noises (eliminated when I reduced the tire psi to the proper level), 21-1/2 mpg at 70 mph, and having added 5000 km to the odometer, I cannot really see any notable difference in rear tire tread on the Toyo Proxes 4 Plus tires. (I can't change to the Michelins because we have winters here!).
I realize I must be a huge disappointment to all the forum members who drive their C63s with a little more reckless abandon, but I get that out of my system with the Harley, and simply enjoy the understated way the C63 gets things done, and the fact that it has been so trouble-free despite being over 5 years old, and looks so good (People keep telling me they assumed it was new).
I'm pretty satisfied with "my first Mercedes" and in fact only my second European car.
