one advantage to owing a C63 in Canada...

Go back to my other posts on EWs and that email. I have indicated I had SecureDrive and commented on how CoverageOne compared to what I HAVE!
As to did I feel better? You betcha. You don't have the experience with this car to be of much help to anyone and from where I sit, being totally blunt, the guys you trashed have forgotten more than you perhaps will ever know about these cars and definitely more than you think you know now.
My old departed dad told me more years ago than I like to think about that to get respect you have to earn it. You might find that of value.

My WOT runs have been only from right turns onto a highway and only up to about 80 mph, as there are no long straight, unpatrolled sections of highway that don't have adjacent deer forests here on Vancouver Island. And the fines and insurance add-ons form the Government run insurance are extremely punitive.
My MB dealership though says that it throws "track days" once in a while at the track (driving track, not drag strip) that we have here on The Island, so I am looking forward to getting the car onto the track sometime, hopefully with few other cars around though (Insurance does not cover off-road accidents, and while I know I will be careful and conservative, I don't know the skills, experience, and responsibility level, and drug habits of anyone else on the track at the same time).

I can kind of relate as I currently and IT consultant so I have taken roles as scrum master etc... as PMs are not being phased out with Agile projects. Can't wait till I actually have more free time!
With regards to your WOT runs with chevron 94, as long as you got up to speeds you wanted the car to go to, in the runway you have that's all that really matters with this fuel.

Would be good to get out to a track day really stretch the cars legs see if you do see any performance loss, but unless you feel rough running daily driving with the Chevron 94 I'm sure the butt dyno feel should be indistinguishable between gases. I'm sure its a different story with performance tuned engines.

- I have the P31 package, so already have almost as much power as the aftermarket tunes are able to provide. I don't need or want the tiny bit extra I could get via an aftermarket tune.
- I have a costly aftermarket warranty in place for 4 years or 48,000 km, and do not want to do anything that would give the warranty company an excuse to deny a future potential claim.
- I am not sure that the changes to the transmission shifting in at least some of the aftermarket tunes are a good idea. I am told that the transmission is "tough", but those clutch plates might not like being re-engaged more abruptly, or at higher downshift points, than MB programmed in originally. I'm cautious, because MB transmissions could be pretty costly to repair, and the presence of an aftermarket tune would give the warranty company an excuse to deny a transmission damage claim.
