Spotted this gem yesterday, had to jump out and snap a pic.
Must be an exclusive limited edition, huh?

Had a flashback with this.
Back hell knows when now my dad decided to get my mom a new car. He was addicted to buying new cars at the end of the model year.
She would have been in her 50's so I was blown away when he came home with a maroon 2 dr sedan, B pillars and all - an Oldsmobile 442 which of course had the 455 cu. in engine which as I recall dumped out 365 hp.
He had no idea what the 442 stood for and he figured it was engine size. He had a stealthy car with the 455 as far as he was concerned. Broke my heart to tell him 4 barrels 4 speed manual and twin exhaust. Of course the car he bought had the automatic 3 spd option so even though it was badged 442 it was really a 432!
Damned thing would move. I swear I was responsible for a couple of sets of tires wearing out prematurely and I swear you could see the gas gauge shake when you nailed the pedal.
Is that why I love my C63? Seeds planted in my 20's?

Ha! Great story. I would 100% bet that's the case. I've always said this is just a German muscle car. My roots would go back to my dads 68 Chevelle SS, black on red, with a 396 and a 4 sod. He sold it at some point for $800, cos that's what it was worth. It was mint, but it was just old enough to be old and not old enough to be cool, plus the oil embargo was on and a 396 was a liability.
