Rubber connector on gas cap broke
The little rubber string that keeps the gas cap from falling to the ground when refueling just broke. Is it possible to buy just this piece, or do you have to get a whole new cap ($35-40)?

I looked it up once. I think it's this (as seen on Parts.com):
STRAP
Part Number 2044700140
$18.29 / each
You Save
$7.71
MSRP
$26.00
Strap is listed as Part 2 (not identified on diagram) of Part 4 (Cap) sub-group on diagram.

Part 2 is listed in the diagram and looks to me like the strap to hold the gas tank up in place. Looks like you will need a new cap.

Thanks guys - great info. It's a little disappointing that you can't buy just the strap, but the parts.com link you posted has a really good price for a new cap!
