2009 C63 AMG P30 Stiff Suspension Question

I am wondering how can I make my stock P30 suspension a bit softer and more forgiving. This is by far the stiffest sprung and dampened car I ever had. Unless the road is perfectly smooth every bump rocks the entire car (and your spine).

I read H&R springs might help, but I'm not looking to lower the car at all.

Any other suggestions?

The shocks are the same? Only the springs are different between P30 and non-P30?

Shocks are the same. Its about spring rate. I had a P30 and put H&Rs cos I did want to lower. You can go with a standard spring or go with coilovers like The KW V3s.

I have a buddy with a set of shocks and springs that he would sell. Only about 10000 miles on them I think. Send a PM to LFM_Vancouver if you are interested.

If you don't want to lower it, then I suggest you go ahead and find a set of Non P30 Suspension. Shouldn't be hard, many people dont' care to keep their OEMs after they swap to Coils.

Thanks, I couldn't find the information when searching that the shocks are the same. I might just go with stock suspension. I want KW V3, but man they are expensive.

I would go with them, but I want to avoid lowering the car. The exit from my parking has a small ditch, if I go lower I'm afraid it will rub.

Yep, will probably do that if not KW.

I have a set of non-P30. They are sitting in my garage. I think I put 45k on them. PM me if you're interested.

Did you install coilovers or just springs? I'm thinking to lower my car also with H&R springs only, but not sure how much of a drop I would get with my P30 (I've read that the P30 is slightly lower than non, and visually, I have to agree).

Damn. That post is almost a year old lol.

I just did spring. I too think the P30 is a smidge lower, but not a whole lot. I can't quantify how much drop I got, but it was visually noticeable and I think quite close to the H&R specs.

Side note: Non P30 guys think the H&Rs are softer than OEM, but you will probably enjoy not getting your fillings hammered out on a regular basis.

I know it's an old post, Blkrokt will be proud that I used the search function, lol! Thanks for the reply. I spacered my car today and now it looks like I need to drop it a smidge (when the wheels were tucked, the shadows hid the gap a bit, but now that it's more flush, the top of the tire is seeing more sunlight so the gap looks bigger), so was considering the HR sports.

Spacers with H&Rs are just the ticket for a nice stance. I did 12mm front and 10mm rear with the OEM 18s. Make sure to get the 17mm spring pad for the back and you'll have a nice rake to it and no rubbing. I think the part number for that is A210 325 04 84 (double check that) and I seem to recall they were about $30. Just two pieces of rubber.

And I should clarify my prior comment - non P30 guys think the H&Rs are harder than OEM, but you will find them softer.
