Just a quick update: Called Benzworks and spoke with Serge. I'll be flat bedding it to them this morning. After explaining what happened Serge gave me his best case possible which is a little under $2,000.00 & worst possible case scenario cost is $6,500.00.
I'll update when he's put a wrench to her and gives me a full breakdown

Serge pretty much said the valve body told multiple gears to engage at once and grinded em together to the point of almost welding.... So yea. 6500 paid tomorrow morning and I'll have a new(factory rebuilt) transmission in her with 30k warranty.
Odd question: is it weird to ask them to take pictures of the install? I mean I'm paying a grip of cash for it, I want to at least see the d**n thing go in.

Yes it's part of the service if I remember correctly. I think around 60k or so
