Powerstop Z23 brake pad review
Hi everyone,
i was looking for an inexpensive front brake pad for my 2009 c63 and I decided to give these a try. Part # is Z23-1291 for the fronts.
Overall, I have to say I'm reasonably impressed with these pads, especially for $48 through Summit Racing. They don't have quite the same initial bite that the stock pads do. I really don't push them hard on the street, but they are far better than most ceramic pads I've tried in bite and feel. I've had to make a few hard stops in traffic and they've worked as advertised.
They came with new clips and pins which was a nice touch (especially for the price), they don't make a sound, and they are as dust-free as any other ceramic pads I've used.
If you're looking for an inexpensive pad that is quiet, clean, and seems totally sufficient for daily driving, I don't have a problem recommending these.
Next up will be a review of the Powerstop Track Day pads that I picked up to try out!

I just installed and did a review of these pads and found them to be excellent. Unfortunately the thread discriminated into 100 posts mostly of people hurling insults and telling me I was going to die because they didn't cost $500 a set. I am glad you discovered this little gem just like I did. Best of all for me is NO DUST !! I am really interested to see what the track day pads would be like. I'd also like to see a comparison test of these vs the more expensive Porterfield.

Yeah, I saw your post degenerate. Too bad, just trying to pass on personal experiences and opinions; everyone is free to take those opinions however they want to.
Regardless, I'm pretty happy with these pads overall. The best ceramic pad I've tried (although I've never tried the Porterfields which I understand are great pads). Almost as good a bite as semi-Metallics, but with no dust.
I will be hitting the track on Aug 18 for my first day with the Track Day pads and will post a review on those then.

They are for the CTS-V or the big Challenger, etc. Several cars used our same caliper. The only thing they do t have is the least type telief cut-out for the pad wear sensor, but that's something I'm not at all worried about for a track pad.
i have installed them on the car and they fit perfectly .... hopefully they do their intended job as well as the Z23s do?
