C63 sedan, go for pre or post facelift?
Greetings!
I'm considering the C63 for my first MB and AMG car as prices are more attainable these days. I also like the big V8 engine idea and I've never had such a car so I'd like to experience it. C63's are generally very rare where I'm from and I have an option to either go with 2009 or 2012 version, both relatively low mileage (under 20k), and in good condition.
This will be more of a spare/weekend car and I have other cars for daily driving. I do not intend to mod the car so upgrade potential is a non factor.
I like the 2012 as it has a more modern and upscale interior. But it is also around 20% more expensive than the 2009 version. As I'm mainly considering the C63 mainly for its sports abilities, I'm contemplating whether it is worth spending the extra money.
If you have driven or owned both back to back, can you please help share some of your experiences with the 2 C63 variants?
Apart from the cosmetic finishes, can you say that the post facelift version is actually a better car to drive vs pre facelift one? I understand that the post facelift version has a newer transmission but it is still not dual clutch.
Thanks!

Obviously search this question has been asked at least 1000 times, bunch of differences, and most importantly the 2012+ model will not need a $5000 potential headbolt repair in the future, so read about the headbolt problems and then make a decision.

You are also paying for more than just headbolt fix and interior upgrades.
There is the exterior upgrades , better transmission , redesigned suspension , forged internals , maybe more if I have forgotten some.

Better trans for sure. Exterior being better, is subjective. Personally, I think the PFL looks much more aggressive. Redesigned suspension -- not sure what aspect was redesigned..?. Forged internals if you go P31. Also, with P31 as opposed to P30, you won't get two piece rotors. Not this it'll terribly matter, but just more "blingy", I guess. In my opinion, FL has the pretter interior but PFL has the prettier exterior.
Oh and with P31, you don't get an LSD, but that's included with P30.

Roughly $3k by the way, with new tappets.

I also think the PFL is a more aggressive looking frontend

The dealer just called up and finally agreed to my offer price which ended up only around 15% more than the 2009. So I guess I'll be going with the 2012 C63.
I figured the W204 was almost at the end of its production run by then so hopefully, the build quality will be better especially since I plan to keep it stock.
A bit off topic but from my experience with Porsche, going from 2006 997.1 TT to currently a 2011 997.2 TTS was a huge step up in terms of quality. And it was not even including PDK, nicer interior/exterior, ceramic brakes, etc. But then, unlike the W204, the jump in price was over 40% so maybe the W204 difference is not as big.
Looking forward to my first AMG and thanks for your comments!

The facelift can do Bluetooth streaming of music for example.
