Would a seldom used car benefit from an oil additive that includes metal treatment?
I bought a new MB W205 with a turbo 4L engine three years ago. However, due to my work that requires me to travel, the car often sits unused for weeks, sometimes months. I have a total of over 18k kilometres so far.
When I start the car after sitting for some time, I notice a lot of clatter coming from the engine, which goes away after a while. Sounds like the oil has all gone down to the sump and taking some time to circulate and lubricate the engine, which may be causing some unwanted engine wear.
Would an oil additive that coats the engine parts with a lubricating protectant such as Cera Tec help prevent or reduce engine wear in this case?
Many thanks in advance for any feedback or suggestions.
