It doesn't sound like it. They have to replace the front bumper frame, but it just bolts to the main frame from what I understand.
True. Trying to find you a picture of it. Front end damage to our cars actually requires very little body work, its all bolt on parts for crumple zones etc. 90% of it could be done by a guy whose dad is a tv repairman, with the ultimate set of tools.
Thanks for asking Actually got to drive the car last week for 30 minutes as I needed to take it to the PPF installer. Scheduled to pick it up Thursday! Can't wait to get it back - will have been 7 weeks since the accident. From what I inspected in overcast lighting conditions, the paint match is spot on. I've been very impressed by the MB body shop.

Nice! For the amount of repairs needed, that was pretty quick. Be sure to post up some pictures when you get the car back! What film are you going with?

Make sure you really inspect the repair paint under some good lighting. Preferably some high quality fluorescents. I bought my C63 last October in Virginia while I was on TDY in DC, carfax was "Clean" and under a ****ty overcast day it looked great. It was only after I got it home to my garage 10 months later that has decent lighting did I see some fisheyes and dirt nibs in the hood. Sure enough last week when I had a new key programmed I asked the service manager to run a service history did I find out the hood had been repainted by a MB dealership in 2013. Frankly stunned that it made it out of the dealership, but to be fair the defects are small. But never-the-less there are defects.
I didn't read all the posts but I just wanted to add my two cents because this is too bad I feel for you! I had a similar situation but on a motorcycle that turned into a lawsuit and all that fun stuff. My two cents tho I'd fight this as much and as hard as you can. Get a lawyer and get to work. Mainly because of what the car is. Its worth a shot maybe you're laws and whatnot are different in Canada vs the States but alway fight the insurance companies because they always try to lowball you/screw you over and thats just a worldwide fact. Be assertive tell them what you want not what will they do. This is just what I have learned. Anyways sorry to hear about it. If you do scrap it I'll buy some parts from ya haha(sorry too soon for jokes like that).
Guess I should have read stuff further down haha. New to this whole thing. Glad it all seemed to work out for you for the car at least!!! Thats good. She'll be as good as new soon it sounds like. Thats good news my man I sure you're stoked to take her back home

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the kind words. Really looking forward to putting this ordeal behind me and enjoying the car again.
Re the paint job, I wish I had more time to do a thorough inspection prior to the PPF going on, but I’ve been back and forth with the installer who’s obviously working very closely with the paint and he commented that he’s very impressed with the match. Says it’s one of the best he’s seen which is encouraging. Besides, it’s a matte film which will help blend the paint further.
