GREAT time in Atlanta dyno-tuning with Friends

Had a Great time out with Tony, Craig and Eric this weekend in Atl(well worth the 420mi round trip!!!)
chatwithaninja(Andy) showed up as well as my old friend Jason that I talk to every now and again but havent seen in years

Have no idea how DA would factor in but it was 87* and humid as hell!!!!!
Acworth, Ga
87*
87% humidity
30.03in(988.9mb)
997' above sea level

Ive been running the same tune for the last 3yrs from Tony and thought i was happy but now I'm ecstatic!!!
In similar weather 3yrs ago about 10mi down the road i did 389/389 (DynoDynamics)

After Tony played around with the voodoo of tuning a little bit i ended up at about 408rwhp max but the kicker is this new dyno-tune gave me around a 20rwhp bump from 1800rpm up until around 4000rpm with 25rwhp in some spots in that sweep and MAN CAN YOU TELL A DIFFERENCE!!!!
I honestly feel like this number was just a little bit light as the last 3 pulls(all with changes) stayed within 1hp of each other. What we noticed was that due to heat soak the AFR kept going rich at around 5200rpm, hell i had just driven 205mi straight in and hopped on the dyno for tuning and back to back pulls....
aFe dry filters
no charcoal
2nd cat and back box delete
dyno tune.......that is the extent of what i have
***considering i have right at 211k mi on this Merc I'll take it all day long***

...and the downshift blips have been great before, but now they are AWESOME!!!! You can really hear them in the pull below when he comes out of the throttle

chatwithaninja showed up with his bone stock PFL car and it was right where we all expected it to be...first pull was 366rwhp and I believe 2nd pull he got right around 370rwhp

After the boost in ego with the new found midrange rwhp Craig had to jump on the dyno with his CLS63 which just happens to be a Weistec Stage 3 car...all i can say is that car is freaking BRUTAL!!!!
As loud as my car is Craig's CLS made mine sound like a whisper, and when his pull began it was just out and out violent. The rate at which it climbs up the band is amazing to say the least...580 at the wheels and there is more in it no doubt.

And guys, don't hate...we are all car guys and good cars are good cars no matter the emblem on the hood...
Jason brought out his vintage M5 and all i can say is Jesus Harold Christ. I'm not going to pretend to know what all of that BMW trinketry is but i will say that i honestly believe that beast will run with a Formula 1 car all day long, words cannot describe the sounds that car makes......

Did I read that right? 211 thousand miles on your c63? Wow that is impressive. What year car and how long have you had it. What type of issues have you had with it if any. Nice numbers by the way. How did the m5 dyno?

2009 and ive had it for 3.5yrs...i drive ALL THE TIME and i like to drive so whatever i have is going to rack up miles quick. 2 headbolts went at about 185K i believe but other than that not a bobble....I did the headbolts myself and have put about 25k on the M156 since then....Jason and I were actually talking about that on Saturday as i had called him when they went to see if his shop could tackle it for me and he was amazed at the pics i have. When i had the top end apart i took LOTS of pics and one of the most amazing things ive ever seen(and ive been building engines for YEARS) was that at 185k miles the lifter faces, cam journals and cam bearings were all MIRROR SMOOTH....I dont mean they didnt have any gouges in them, i mean they didnt even have any swirls, they were perfect.....poor headbolt issue aside these really are some near bombproof engines

thats awsome. 211k is the most I have heard of on this car. Definitely awsome to hear and it's still laying down great power.

Nice - I recently found a bump in mid-range and it's really nice man. Mid-range is always under appreciated. Looks like your tune is quite rich up top though...? Or is that what you meant about the heat soak?

Also...more about the M5 please!! WTF i've not seen a charger and inlet like that on the S62 before. The E39 M5 is one of the great cars of all time.
