opinions on these headers for C63
I bought these second hand headers and on close inspection the ports look poorly finished.
Will it be worth getting the welds cleaned up prior to install ?

It it was me, I would too much work and expense to put them on and then have issues. I would also have them plained flat after, the finish pretty rough anyway and all the welding may warp them slightly, so I would tig them up and then plain them before using, but I am certainly a do it once do it right person!

My opinion
Those headers look like junk I wouldn't think of taking factory manifolds off for those-the mating surface is not machined and there is a gap between the flange and the tubes. I took MBH headers off my car and Iike how it drives better now.

I’m sure there’s a solid bead on the outside, it’s unlikely they’re leaking. And anyone who takes MBH headers off their car and likes it more, is just out of their mind.
OP just make sure they’re straight/flat mating surface and you have a solid weld on the outside at least. I’m sure they’re fine as-is. Not sure it’s worth the work/investment to make them look nice on the inside where it doesn’t matter at all.

I know I have been out of my mind for some time now... the car had a Renntech tune and it definitely runs smoother with stock exhaust. I happen to like the deep throaty rumble of the stock exhaust over the barking MBH set up. For me that is the beauty of the 6.2 motor. When I want obnoxiously loud I drive my 4.2 cayman with full Fabspeed headers and valvtronic exhaust muffler.

If anyone's interested in headers for their C63, we also make a fantastic set.
