Performance Upgrades - Stress on Engine
I understand that tuning the M156 is simply opening up a constricted engine. Here's my thought process... the engine comes from the factory 'constricted' so when you start adding ROW intakes, headers, and ECU tuning - how do the factory engine components hold up being 'pushed' harder than how they were designed from the factory?
For those who have chosen to upgrade their C63, are there any critical 'piggyback' upgrades that will make or break the longevity of the modded engine / vehicle? Anything from fluids to mechanical that will be added insurance for the vehicle.
P.S. - These questions are coming from someone who is not planning on tracking their car (yet) nor worried about voiding any warranties. Just personal care of the vehicle longevity.

First look at how many mercedes vehicles share your engine. Now look at what numbers they release...they aren't the same! Now why would that be? Its all in the software. The C63 is detuned from the factory on purpose. We can't have a E63 making the same power right? Then who would buy it!
Headers and tune is relatively mild these days with a lot of people dropping sc's in on the stock engine. We have tuned hundreds of the 63's and they are rock solid.
Nothing critical on the na engine. Just proper maintenance and headbolts if you fall in that range

Been running 750hp through a stock cast internal m156 for 45,000km. Have pushed it at the track to 900hp a handful of times, with 109,000km on the clock, zero issues. Don't worry about a tune
