Maximum toe-in or minimum toe-in?

I’ve got a W204 C63 Sedan. I know that our cars have fixed camber and that it creates tyre wear on the inner edges. I’ve always been of the understanding that to help minimise this, you set toe-in to minimum. Today I had 2 new rears fitted and the guy said that to minimise inner wear, I should set the toe-in to maximum within spec. It seemed to make sense when he explained it but it’s opposite to what I had previously heard. Is maximising toe-in just going to create premature outer wear in addition to the inner wear or will it help to extend the life of the tyre?

minimize toe in.
Negative camber wont help anything of the outter tire. Plus most tire now are not asymmetrical so you can switch the rear tires left to right.

Minimum rear toe-in will help reduce tire wear but may reduce high speed stability.

This is true but you really only need minimal toe in to keep things stable.
