Thanks for the help.
I've heard that the DVD's are extremely difficult to set up and navigate, so I'd like to keep that as my last option.
I know someone on the other model section posted the whole WIS for people to use, but that might be asking for too much lol. Not sure there are many people who go that far here.

Basically the 4matic sucks. Dumb design where the bearings in the transfer case do not receive enough oil and break. Gets progressively louder and I guess it might ruin the whole trans from metal fragments, since they are integrated.
This design had been in 7G trans with 4matic since like 05 in S class and they never fixed it. They stopped selling the bearings and only sell transmissions now. It costs about 7k. I bought one used and had a shop do it for like 4k, but now I have the issue again. I have to source the bearings from france on eBay, since that's the only way to do it other than a full trans replacement.
However, I'm not exactly sure if I want to do this, as this doesn't necessarily fix the issue. It just stalls it, as the design is still flawed.
I'm pretty much at a huge loss of money. Fortunately if you have never driven the car you won't notice it at all at this point. Still sucks, cause I did quite a bit to the car and the 4matic is great in winter. Then again, winter tires cost less than transfer cases.
Thanks for the help jasonoff, I'll take a look, I appreciate it.
