When I start the car it makes a rattling/grinding sound for about 3 seconds. Sounds like a diesel tractor. Then the noise stops. I had a mechanic tell me it is the timing chain actuator and estimated it would cost close to $2,000 to fix. Does this sound right?

Must not be cheap to maintain a swaped M156 into a C250! Gotta pay to play.
