P2097

Sup fellas, lately I've been getting a CEL. P2097 is the culprit. Ive tried searching but nothing on that specific code. I've erased code twice and it stays off for about 200-300 miles. I noticed it started doing it when I drive the car in C, like a little bi.... Car has arh catted lth with cheapish post o2 spacers and EC V7 tune with rear o2 left on. Do you guys think its tune related or should I get better o2 spacers, probably some honeycomb ones. Want to get this sorted out before I install EC Flex Fuel Kit with 550cc injectors. As always thanks in advance.

Generic code means

P2097 – Post catalytic converter fuel trim (FT), bank 1 – too rich

so bad O2, oil fouled O2 or maybe your spacers like you said but O2 appears to be reporting too much fuel post cat.

my 335i throws the same code with the high flow cats if not suppressed.

Thanks. I'll try better spacers that act like mini cats. Then I'll try new new o2s if that doesnt work.

Are you running extension wires on the rear o2s?

you will never pass with wire extensions. I have been there and done that.

need to have bungs welded close enough to not need longer wires and you will pass even with no cats using o2 spacers.
