facelift c63 android stereo install thread
So I bit the bullet and bought an android 7.1 8" lcd unit that is supposed to fit in the stock location in the dash for facelift cars. I just didn't particularly like how the larger tesla-style screen looked, but I was tired of the fact that in a expensive 2013 car the radio display is two colors and looks like its from a mid 80's sedan... Unit is supposedly plug and play and you switch to it from stock display with the AUX input button.... Coming direct from China... looks to come with a new dash trim console area around the gauges.. Ordered yesterday, will advise when it arrives... we will see if it works, steering wheel controls are supposed to work, I have no idea what will happen with the music display in the speedometer section...

Having just watched a how-to video on doing this to a pre-facelift, I’m quite interested as the install looks pretty simple. If this kit fits the same as the CKM Car design kit then it could be worth while as that one retains your OEM interface/steering wheel controls/COMAND Wheel too.

yeah but it looks crappy like you tapped an iPad to the dash not a fan

The iPad on dash thing, like the W205, is the only way it would work with the pre-facelift W204.

Ordered it on July 3rd and received it today July 11 so about 5 business days shipping from China
it showed up right when I was walking out of the house for work so I'll separate out the components later tonight and shoot some pictures of them. It looks like the whole touch-screen replaces the center dash area and they Supply a small little triangle trim piece to fill in the remaining space
I'm guessing the install as far as wiring will be very similar to the other replacement touch screens that are out there I'll probably just find some directions from them and go from there

Just search e b a y android c63/w204. There are several Chinese vendors reselling the same unit. There's also a European guy I found after I had made my purchase, who is undubtably easier to communicate with, with little higher price though .
There seems to be some disconnects in the info though, some say it matters if it had fact nav or/and fact amplifier. Others say as long as you have aux you're good to go. So it's a bit sketchy until a few of us get them installed and tried out.
i have pulled it out and looks to fit nicely, i hope to do some install / pics sunday. my car is getting aligned and i'm waiting on the backup camera. i think the screen is actually 8.0 in size or something... they had a smaller one previously with the older android version

Why would any of you with a FL want a touch screen in such an inconvenient location? Mine's a 13 and screen is multi color and so is the cluster. It makes more sense on that awful PFL infotainment that looks straight from the late 90s. It's weird cus I think the PFL exterior looks pretty awsome, but that interior is outright dated. Just saying.... PFL guys dont get butthurt, ok.

Here's some component pics. The company sent me a adapter cable they thought I might need and of course dhl said they delivered it and didn't, so I have to get that sorted out / reshipped , so I probably won't get it started this weekend . The company said it might work without the cable, but I don't want to do install 2x so I want to have it in case I need it

I have a facelift. But I don't have the factory navigation, maybe that makes a difference. But my normal screen is basically three colors and occasionally when I'm listening to music to my iPod the album cover will pop up in full color. But the screen is small and it looks like tech from about 10 years old. I'm not even going to use the touchscreen portion, I'll still use my factory controls I mainly just want a nicer display

So I got the part I was waiting for, but it was not what I expected. I thought I was going to get something like the bottom picture, a most to rca adapter, which I thought goes on the rca outs of the connector labeled "original aux connector" I have assumed I needed one of these, since i have the hk/most system. However all the similar adapter boxes i see for sale only show for use on model years up to 2011. UPDATE - I do not think I will need this type converter box at all!
instead I got the top adapter which plugs into the "original audio port" connector according to the labeling on the box and has a usb port on the other end.
I am now confused and sent an email to the company to see what they say...
