My buddy asked me to help him install an aftermarket subwoofer in his C204, standard audio package. I’ve done it before on other cars with full aftermarket systems, wasn’t sure how on c204 with OEM system but found a YouTube guide.
Amp installed with power, ground and remote to fuse box. All good. I then hopped in the back of the car, pulled off the rear shelf cover to find out which speaker I could tap into for the RCA’s, but there’s nothing there.
Is this right? I thought there would be a mid-range in there, or maybe this is just the place where the HK subs go, if you have HK?
Anyway, I guess I need to get to a rear speaker next to the rear seats. Any tips on getting to them before I pull his car apart?
I had to tap into the rear speakers for my sub install. No need to remove the door-cards, Was able to find the speaker wires in the pillar between the two doors, then ran the wires under the carpet to the trunk, where my sub amp is.
