M156 Camshaft Adjuster Repair Plates

Have any of you guys used the repair plates for the camshaft adjusters? There is a picture of plate wear on my Facebook page. I'm getting parts together now to replace the cams, lifters, adjusters, and head bolts this winter. I'm still debating on using ARP studs or revised head bolts.

The big question here is what is the hardness of these plates vs OEM. No point in doing this unless there is data to show they are harder, else the issue will just come back over time.

I asked them about it. He said it is the same or about the same hardness. Aka he did not know. It seems the issue will come back no matter what due to the design. I have a hard time paying $400 for untested parts though.

If anyone had one laying around, I would be willing to identify the hardness, improve, and then cad one up for a machine shop. It will be a balancing act, hard enough that the wear is prevented, but not so hard that it overly wears the touching component. This would be a great replacement for me when I do the headbolts.

Did anyone ever send you a used plates. Or better yet, did you make a CAD file for this? I have a machine shop and can make them on my own. I've got a '10 E63 with 118k miles and I need to do my plates.
