coolant capacity c63 2013
Hi everyone!
I'm replacing my coolant on my c63 2013, and just drop my old one, pickup aroud 6-7 liters out of the car, wondering how much it should really have, does some coolant stay in motor that I can't get out or just contain this capacity ?
Read in some place it should contain 11.5L so I'm confused!
thanx
David

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yes there is a block drain plug located just above the starter.... unplug the battery if you are going to attempt it as the starter feed and ground are live...
I think it’s a 6mm Allen key

12.4 qts and to get most of it out, you need to drain both sides of the engine block - it also helps to have a radiator vacuum tool as well.
I drained the block (both sides) 6 months ago... https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ant-block.html ...and just finished the replacement yesterday RS was pretty easy but I would not do the LS again w/o a lift and whatever special tool MB might have to access the drain bolt. Best I can tell, a previous owner replaced mine with the wrong fluid (very dirty and green) so I was determined to get every possible drop out of mine - I did 2 add'l distilled water flushes to get it clean but mine was very contaminated from doing an HB replacement as well, so a single flush may be ok.
if yours looks fairly clean (and correct), a 50/50 mix to replace what you removed should be fine.
If you want to get a bit more out, the vacuum tool might get another 1 or 'maybe' 2 qts out. What I did for the flushes(only did the block on initial drain), was drain the radiator, tighten the plug, run the vacuum to near max pressure - relieve pressure and drain radiator again - a 2nd time got a little more. NOTE: the vacuum revealed a weakness in my reservoir tank and overfill hose (both cracked) and I had to replace them - better during the service than on the road.

cool thanx guys! I will try the drain bolt this weekend, my fluid was pretty clean but getting 5 years and 100k km it's a goot thing to replace anyway but juste one shot will be enought.
