My c63 amg 2014 works fine for telephone pairing via Bluetooth for iPhone X but try as I might I cannot get the internet option on the car to work it says connected phone does not support data communication ! Surely Apple should work with car ?
I have an iPhone X and it works perfectly fine on my FL C63. I did however have trouble connecting to Bluetooth at first but got that taken care of. What iOS are you running?
Newer iPhones don’t support the old comms profile that the car is looking for to get internet for the car based apps to work. It doesn’t use the phones hotspot but rather some antiquated simulated modem profile that dates back a decade or more. There’s a list somewhere of approved phones and what features they support in the car.
That’s rubbish !! So I have to buy a older phone with sim in to get the data connection ?? Crazy .. I tinder if mb do any additional add ons for the car , a plug and play device to allow internet
I wouldn’t even bother. There’s nothing useful that the car does that isn’t done better with a phone to begin with. Plus the old protocol that’s used is reall really slow. Like unbearable compared to modern speeds.
If if you’re convinced you want internet in the vehicle, the better option is to install one of the CKM Design android displays and use your phone’s hotspot.
