Leaky/Blown Rear Shock, What Are My Options?
Car was handling weird. Then, got some bad sounds coming from the rear as I was going over bumps.
Took car to a mechanic today, turns out my rear right shock is failing/leaking. The mech recommended to replace both.
What are your opinions here? Replace both sides? And go with stock MB part or are there aftermarket parts? And how bad is it to continue driving? Will it wear down any related components?
Also, is part # same for Sedan vs Coupe, and PFL vs FL? I'm getting part# 2043266900
But not sure whether this will fit 2012 coupe

Since the front and rear shocks are tuned to each other and the car I would only go aftermarket if you are going to change all four corners. Then you can consider something like KWV3, H&R Coilovers or something else.
Yes it is best to change both rear shocks as the other side is worn as well.
The part # you show is correct for a sedan. The coupe takes 2043201231.
Here is a link to OEDiscount parts showing the breakdown. They unfortunately do not ship direct to Canada AFAIK. https://www.oediscountparts.com/part...iagram=5778600
