Finally getting my dream car
Hi everyone,
I just turned 27 and finally able to purchase my dream car - the C63 AMG!
I've cycled through many cars and recently sold my 5 series and now joining the benz family. I've done a lot of research and wanted to make sure I got the "non headbolt" issue 2011's. My engine number is 4000 over so I think I'm pretty clear of that issue.
The car seems to be quite well built from what everyone is saying outside of that head bolt issue.
What do you guys think of this deal?
2011 C63 AMG, WHITE ON BLACK
60,xxx miles - $20,000 USD.
No accidents reported on the vehicle. Recent service history includes:
4 brand new tires, new brakes and rotors front and rear, new spark plugs and coils, and oil change (receipts provided from MB) and a full detail and full tank of gas
Out the door before tax is 20k usd. Fair deal?

First off congrats! I think you will really appreciate an AMG car if you’ve never had one. For me it’s the best car marque in the world and have had a few. As far as that deal that sounds like a great deal! If it checks out and when you drive it, it feels solid. Do it!

in all honesty I work in labour relations and a large part of my job and education involves negotiations - albeit i don't exercise those skills everyday, i am familiar with the concepts.
the vehicle was priced at 26,400.
i waited a few weeks to see the price drop to 24,800
I waited further until the holidays (now) and saw that they were interested in moving the vehicle at 23,800
I swooped in two nights ago and offered 19500 out the door and was refused so I walked away. I then shot the salesman a text saying that I was going to buy a c63 yesterday and if he wants his sold i'll take it for 20k all in plus taxes subject to a third party inspection.
and that's how I landed the deal, with a little bit of patience, waiting for the right time, and letting the guy know that nobody in their right mind will buy a c63 during christmas and in 10 days the car will be "1 year older" and this unit will need to be auctioned or sitting till early summer for a sale at which time further depreciation will incur.
morale of the story - i was not in the right state of mind clearly haha!

I bought a 2014 CPO 2 years ago from a dealer. They had it listed at 46k. A few weeks went by, they dropped to 44k. I called and said I'll pay 42k. Took about 2 more weeks of the salesman calling saying they couldn't do it for that price. They finally caved and we agreed on 42k + tax/tag/title. Patience is rewarding at times.
