Is extended CPO warranty worth it?

Is extended CPO warranty worth it?
Might pull the trigger on a 2013 C63 with about 48k miles. Is CPO for another year/unlimited miles. I have the ability to purchase an additional 2 years/unlimited miles for about $4,900.
Is it worth it? Thoughts?

Yeah, it's worth it I'd say. $4900 seems a little steep. I just had my brake calipers replaced because the clear coat was flaking off. Not sure what the cost on that job would have been, but probably around,or more than $4900 i guess.

I've just looked into to the extended warranty and bought one from a third party. $4900 for 2 yr CPO sounds about right. If it's cheaper then they cost average the selling price of car. In the end, I purchased a third party 5 yr/60k warranty for $3300.

Negotiate the warranty price like it's part of the car but yeah, unfortunately, it's totally worth it. A few years ago I bought my '13 sedan and it came with a CPO that runs until 2021. The list of perks that come with a CPO (transferable, zero deductible, roadside assistance, etc.) are pretty good and, as a result, I've put about 30K worry free miles on my car. The car has been 99.9% trouble free too but when it's needed minor service I'll just bring it in.
Before my C63 I had an '07 Audi RS4...out of warranty...and it was such a painful lesson. It was always hundreds and hundreds of dollars in parts and labor, even for the most minor things, but most of the time the car had to be in "$ervice mode" before the tech could access half the car's systems. Imagine the labor. Never again.

I bought one with my CPO. The same 2-year deal I think it was $4500-$4600. I'm about to call and cash it in. I work from home and only drive the car short trips during the week/weekends. To me, I don't see paying more than $4500 in the next few years based on the mileage I drive. Hopefully a lot less.

I paid $2700,$250 ductable, bumper to bumper, transferable, 3 yrs 30,000 miles when I bought my C63 Black Series (I live in CA). Car had 20,000 miles. I just had my motor mounts replaced and a couple other small things, and the company paid it no questions asked. It basically already paid for itself and I have 2 more worry free tears left. Company is Safe- Guard.

Look them up on Trustpilot -- also they are on BBB and highly rated. Best price I could find. Ask for Brandon. (and they cover CA).

Just wanted to update everyone on the forum about Infinite Auto Protection. Made my first claim last week. Started my car last week and had crackling and popping sounds coming from the top of the dash. Also had burnt electrical smell, the sounds also present when car turned off but after 3 start up the sounds went away.. Took C63 to the dealer and they diagnosed that center speaker had a short. Cost $211 parts and labor. Also charged $200 diagnosis fee and sales tax separate as well . Was surprised about diagnosis fee, since I've never been charged that on any car warranty or not, or dealer or independent shop, CPO or non CPO. Understand why they do it, dealer can't work for free. My question is anyway around the diagnostic fee? Seem like will get nickled and dimed on small repairs, a plus for large repairs. Also warranty company says can use a independent shop instead of dealer, has anyone tried a independent for warranty work?

I can't speak to the dealer diagnostic fee. Maybe they padded the bill when they found out you had a 3rd party warranty? My dealer doesn't charge a diagnostic fee.

Warranty/Insurance = never worth it. How do you think they stay in business? By making money off selling the warranty/insurance products. AKA You are losing money by purchasing the warranty!!!!

Infinite was fine and covered only parts and labor as stated in their contract. Only issue with Infinite was it took a week to get car diagnosed, get car inspected by Infinite, get the work approved, then get car repaired. Don't forget, this is a speaker, why do you need to send a inspector for a $211 repair? Yes, I know that's their process, but lucky I have multiple cars...most people don't. I've used to have a good service writer at MB, but he has moved on so do I accumulate small repairs or just bite the bullet and pay the fee every time? Might be same diagnostic fee since every problem will be different, so no savings. I've never had a third party warranty so didn't understand things they don't cover. If I knew I was getting nickeled and dimed, would of been worth paying the extra $2500 for the factory warranty. Maybe the factory extended warranty doesn't cover the diagnostic either. Can the MB extended warranty owners share their experiences?

Tried to CPO but my car did not qualify so was only offered MB extended warranty. Will try to work something out with service advisor so beneficial to everyone
