Wheels Cracking

Hey guys, I have a 2012 C63 Edition 1 with stock AMG multi spoke wheels. Was curious if anyone else has had a problem with their wheels cracking? I have had my rear wheels crack twice (repaired & refinished) and now my driver's side front has cracked. I am extremely cautious when going over bumps and always avoid potholes, but these wheels aren't holding up wheel as the side walls are super thin on these stock size tires.

Just asking, but are they original authentic MB multispokes? Knock offs are total crap. I have heard of cracking, but surprisingly the MB multispokes are very strong. I have had mine since 2013 with no issues at all.

Yes, they are 100% real AMG wheels. I thought they would be strong too...

This is the reality of Northeast roads. The winter weather, ice and plow damage does a number on our roads, and cast wheels with low profile tires fall victim all the time. I've switched to 19" rotary forged wheels for summer, and OEM 18" wheels with winter tires for the cold months. The extra meat of the 18" tires is a big help, but even one of mine was pretty bent when I bought the car.

If you want to stick to the OEM route, the 507 wheels are 19" forged monoblock, but they sure are pricey.

I know, these roads are an absolute nightmare. I am most likely going to buy a set of 18" and try to get as much tire under there as possible. What is your wheel and tire setup on your 18" set?

ive never heard of the original authentic MB wheels cracking - unless its potholes at high speed etc. In fact, if that were the case, im surprised there isn't a urgent recall given the wheels are a safety concern and thus inherit an automatic recall.

Replica's on the other-hand, given they arent made anywhere near as strong crack all the time.

I'm running standard OEM 18" wheels for my winter setup. The split 5 star design

AMG A35
AMG A35 19” Multispokes

I’ve just found out that my 2019 AMG A35 has two cracked alloys both just after 13,000 miles 😭 I know I haven’t hit any pot holes hard or anything. Surely this can’t be right?

Must just be a reflection or some dirt. You should keep driving on them.
