you can run headers on stock exhaust and still see loads of extra power with a tune... But if you want a couple extra hp you can get an aftermarket exhaust. If that answers your question

Headers itself will see an increase of power with the right tune.
Often times, cat back valvetronic exhaust is then needed as you have the option to close valves on normal driving.
This is because headers installation brings with it a substantial increase in volume of exhaust sound!

The above 2 comments are correct. Most people tend to leave the stock mufflers because it arguably sounds the best

I have headers to stock resonator and stock mufflers. The car “felt” like it had picked up more power even without a tune, I didn’t get a CEL light either but had a tune lined up anyway that I flashed. Everything has been fine for the last two years.

Normal driving is fine, no drone but when you get on it the whole world knows. I like it.

Do it OP. I havent seen a member posting that they regret it. In fact, most would recommend doing it as early as possible - money permitting. This way you maximize your time enjoying your mods before you sell it to the next guy for a massive loss.

Don’t mean to take away from OP’s question but what prices is everyone paying to get headers installed? I got quoted 1600 by a local shop but felt it was a bit too high

Let me tell you as someone who fitted their own...fk ever doing that again. It’s not back breaking but it’s so tight and fiddly it is really annoying and time consuming. I would pay someone next time and have those hours of my life doing something else.

The result and sound though is totally worth the effort or cost.

Yeah that’s what I’ve heard. I have to shop around for some more quotes, from what I’m hearing 1600 is steep
